I still haven’t figured out what it is I should be doing as an adult. I have somehow managed the luxury of maintaining financial stability for the last 3 years with the company I work for. With this job, I was able to pay off my student loans in 3.5 years and build a savings account from scratch and was able to grow a decent sized nest egg of a 401k plan at the age of 26. A feat that most 20somethings aren’t able to obtain.
I was lucky.
Even though I felt lucky to be able to get rid of debt and start my retirement fund I wasn’t happy sitting in a cubicle 40 hours a week. I wanted to be outside, I wanted to be interacting with more people and working for a good cause. While at my job my manager gauged my talents and found that I was most interested in planning and organizing team building events or company parties and I had full control of everything once I was given a budget. For whatever reason finding a fitting career where I’m happy, using my skills and making decent amount of money is difficult to find. I’m all sorts of green when I come across individuals who were able to find out their passions early on and make a career out of it.
I know that everyone hasn’t figured ‘it’ out yet but it’d be nice to at least have some sort of idea where it is my life is heading.
